Overview:

Looking for a career change? TelCom Construction is an established national underground utility contractor with growing market presence within the telecommunications industry. We are currently seeking a Regional Safety Analyst and are willing to train the right candidate! Travel throughout the assigned region of the Company footprint is required (NE, KS, SD).

Responsibilities:

The Regional Safety Analyst is responsible for the following areas of safety and compliance:

Department of Transportation (DOT) regulation compliance and education
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulation compliance and education
Safety and Health policy monitoring, education, communication and PPE supply acquisition
Industrial health (including policy recommendations, education and communication)
Insurance claim assistance (including documentation, investigation, administration, and monitoring)
Actual job duties may include but also are not limited to the following:

Conducts job site, field office, vehicle and equipment risk audits and inspections to monitor OSHA safety and DOT policy compliance
Conducts, supports and documents accident investigations
Assists with investigating and administering property and utility damage claims in a timely and professional manner
Conducts near-miss investigations, develop action plans and make recommendations based on findings
Conducts weekly Safety and DOT related On-Boarding training (such as enclosed space, OSHA-10, competent person, etc.)
In conjunction with the EHS Manager, recommends, organizes, prepares materials for and/or conducts ongoing safety, health and DOT education, including Tool Box meetings, annual safety training, first aid training, Field Audit training and other field training as needed
Manages inventory and distribution of safety equipment/PPE including tracking, calibrating and repair of gas monitors
Conducts and maintains quarterly building inspection schedule for assigned locations
In conjunction with the EHS Manager, recommends safety policy updates or additions
Conducts driver’s road test examinations
Conducts DOT compliance training
Aids in managing the SDS program
Ensures the compliance of all OSHA Safety, Health, DOT, and Environmental policies and procedures by subcontractors by informing, educating, auditing, and reviewing operations.
In conjunction with the EHS Manager, prepares for and participates in audits initiated by any regulatory entities
In conjunction with Management and the Human Resources Department, prepares and executes employee-related documentation as needed
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience of safety program administration in a construction or similar environment is preferred
Experience managing DOT compliance strongly preferred
Ability to read and interpret general business documents; operating and maintenance instructions; procedure manuals, prints, and descriptions; and government regulations such as OSHA and DOT requirements and safety procedures
Ability to clearly write reports and business correspondence
Effective communicate with individuals and small groups
Ability to adapt communication style and approach to effectively interact with individuals at all levels throughout the organization, subcontractors and vendors (both verbal and written) with diplomacy and tact.
Working knowledge of Internet software; project management software; spreadsheet, word processing, database and training software
Self-motivated and driven
Works well independently and on a team
Willingness to obtain OSHA and other training certificates, licenses or registrations as necessary
Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
Class A driver’s license with tanker endorsement preferred
Must maintain a current DOT health card certificate
Extensive Regional Travel required
