Job Description and Responsibilities :
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Human Resources function, including but not limited to employee development and engagement, compensation and benefits, reward and recognition, training, policy and procedures, regulatory compliance, internal employee communications, and performance management.
Primary Responsibilities:
Serves as a business partner to the Executive team and as a primary resource for employees at all levels regarding performance expectations and interpersonal issues.
Partners with Finance team and Sr. Management on compensation strategy and administration including annual updates, merit based increases, market-based adjustments and incentive programs
Facilitates organizational strategies and activities for the development of people, skills and culture, which includes training, updating appropriate job specifications, career path outlines, and career progression initiatives for employees
Accountable for payroll and management of ADP payroll system to ensure immediate and accurate access to employee information
Responsible for setting benefits strategy (medical, 401(k), life insurance, etc.), contract negotiations, benefits administration, annual audits and open enrollment process as well as act as the leadership liaison for all brokers, vendors, auditors and third party administrators
Develops, recommends and implements policies to support business goals; responsible for employee handbook and updates as needed
Oversees company-wide compliance with policies and procedures and any applicable laws and provides direction and management as needed
Leads performance management program, including annual reviews
Responsible for the development and management of annual HR department budget.
Writes and delivers presentations to corporate officers or government officials regarding human resources policies and practices
Establishes rapport, builds credibility and creates partnerships at all levels of the organization
Requirements :
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent and four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training and development
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop Human Resources staff members
Proven ability to develop and execute training programs
Ability to effectively structure benefits programs to attract and retain top talent
Ability to make informed business decisions based on data and statistics
Experience in ADP Software is strongly preferred
Strong project management skills with proven ability to independently drive multiple simultaneous projects to successful completion
Technical Skills:
Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Experience in ADP WorkForce Now Software is preferred, but not required
Soft Skills:
Highly organized and detail orientated
Knowledge of applicable policies and procedures governing the hiring, employment and separation of employees
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels within the organization
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment under tight deadlines
Time management skills; deadline adherence is mandatory
The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
Sitting at a desk for 6-8 hours a day
Working on a computer for 6-8 hours a day
May be required to work long and unpredictable hours
Travel up to 50% of the time, including short notice travel.
Travel may include local site travel or national travel depending on training needs
