Coax Splicer (Fiber knowledge a plus)
Most of the coax work will be within Washington, DC City Limits. Fiber splicing spreads from there.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and be cleared for legal work status. Coax splicing and testing experience is a must. Fiber Optic knowledge and/or splicing experience is a plus. The ability to work without supervision, the ability to communicate clearly on a "bridge" (conference call) environment, and the ability to follow directions properly and promptly are absolutely necessary. Local candidates preferred. All are welcome to apply.
We have been an engineering, splicing, and innerduct placement company in the Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland region for over 15 years. We utilize Fujikura FSM-50S Fusion Splicers, Exfo 920 MaxTest PMs and a variety of OTDRs. We supply all tools. During projects, communication sometimes happens over a "bridge" or conference call. One must be able to communicate, think clearly and respond in a professional and prompt manner. The work is primarily during the week, although there may be an occasional need to work over a weekend. We work to the needs of the job at hand, so flexibility and availability are important.
We have the necessary tools and equipment. You would need a means of transportation, but we have the splicing trucks and tents that could be needed.
We can negotiate an hourly or salary pay. Demonstrated experience will affect pay rate.
