Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license. • Must be able to obtain Commercial Driver’s License for Foreman Position. • Must be able to Pass Background Check and Drug Screen. • Have ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions. • Have ability to complete quality Aerial or UG work • Have ability to work with hand and power tools. • Must have a strong work ethic relating to quality and attendance. • Must present a positive, professional, and courteous image.

Job Description

Job Summary Foreman:
Be accountable in a lead position on a field crew. Manage your crew in a safely and efficient, productive manner.
Comply and enforce company and industry safety rules and operating procedures.
Maintaining a positive attitude at all times, including in adverse situations and be a positive influence within and outside the Company.
The ability to perform and understand Company Core Value. Employee must demonstrate the best interest of company at all times.
General Accountability: To include but not limited to the below listed items.
Operate all necessary tools related in the utility industry
Be proficient in reading job prints and have the ability to change work tasks to fit what is needed on actual job site in the field, having the knowledge of individual customer spec
Be able to lead a crew or crews on a project by assuring efficiency, developing a plan of attack to complete the project and assuring that a crew or crews are adhering to quality standards set by customer and Berry It
Be able to manage a job to ensure projected hours per project are met or less than projected man hours on every job
Have a CDL or able to acquire a CDL
Be detailed in all job reporting by being specific and thorough on job reports and assuring crew members are doing the same
Be able to speak/coordinate with customers and/or home owners affected by the process of completing a project
Work closely with Project Managers to assure a smooth, efficient job completion
Work closely with the Inventory Manager to assure all materials used are accounted for on a daily basis and returned
Communicate directly with Fleet Manager for scheduling equipment maintenance and repair in a timely fashion
Shoring braces and other temporary structures per OSHA Standards
Recognize and identify utility locates and meaning
Measure, mark, and record openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed
Must be able to read and understand construction prints
Check and inspect that materials are not damaged, inspect equipment, check vehicle for proper operating conditions, properly secure all equipment, and properly stock materials, (checking all fluids)
Clean job site during and upon completion of work and properly dispose of debris
Perform inspections of crews, providing feedback, stopping any unsafe work, and completing reports as necessary
Able to lift heavy objects, physical labor under adverse field conditions
As crew foreman/supervisor, you will be in charge of a 2 (or more) man crew. Your input will greatly influence whether the company hires or fires individuals and the advancement, promotion or any other change of status of other employees. You will be in charge of running whatever job given to you by the project manager.
Managing your jobs that are given to you and your crew member, assist on training employees

Must be able to determine the techniques to be used and routes to take on a job-site that are most cost efficient and safe (which includes determining the type of materials, supplies, machinery, equipment or tools to be used)
Providing a safe and secure job-site for the employees or property and making decisions that makes the company the most money possible. Manage your crew as if this were your business to maximize the most profitability

Job Qualifications
Identify material, methods and the tools involved in the field
Identify machine and tools, their designs, uses
Policies, procedures and strategies to promote safety
Ability to listen to and implement directions
Ability to pass motor vehicle, drug screen and background check
Must have valid driver license/CDL
1 year of experience utility industry
Ability to read Construction drawings
Knowledgeable in operating excavators, loaders, backhoes, and forklift
Understanding the installation process of the utility industry
Demonstrates ability to lead in a safe, consistent manner per OSHA requirements
Must have OSHA Excavation Safety training within the past year
Must have OSHA 10 Hour Construction Outreach within the past year. Refresher classes provided
