Job Description
Job Duties:
• Learn to read splice diagrams, prints, and engineering documents either
in paper or electronic format
• Learn to prep splice locations, termination points, and installation of
splice closures
• Learn to splice loose tube and ribbon cables of various sizes
• Learn to operate technical equipment, including but not limited to
computer, OTDR and fusion splicing equipment and understand the
functionalities
• Learn how to properly test and troubleshoot fiber optic networks for
acceptance and trouble identification
Requirements:
• No experience needed, will train
• Overnight travel will be required for the completion of job duties
• Work schedule will vary and will include night and weekend work
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record required
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Work may be performed out of a tent, trailer or in manholes
• Applicants must be detail-orientated and have the ability to multi-task
• Must be able to lift and move 70 pounds regularly
• Must follow safety guidelines and wear PPE at all times
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and have ability to learn new software
• Ability to handle more than one project at a time and to meet strict
deadlines
• Must be comfortable with heights and confined spaces
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance
vision, color vision peripheral vision, depth perceptions and ability
to adjust focus.
• Weekly Pay
While experience with one or more of the skill sets is preferred, Mi-Tech is willing to train the right candidate for the position.
Candidates must pass a drug test, have a current and valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, reference checks and background check.
