Job Description
ITC Service Group is currently hiring several underground Construction Managers to oversee large day to day FTTH projects that have multiple construction teams located in the Atlanta area. Responsibilities include the following:
Manage construction production within budget and scheduling constraints.
Observe and inspect construction work performed by others.
Reviews engineering work orders and redlines for accuracy and efficiency.
Monitors QA/QC of construction process and progress.
Work closely with contractors and subcontractors to ensure the project is meeting schedule, contract requirements, and design deliverables.
Resolve construction related situations in ways that are conducive to design, spec, and the customer requirements.
Field inspection of completed underground construction work, to ensure it is built to meet our quality standards.
Report back to the construction group with field and design changes, situations that require attention, and various daily activities on a weekly basis.
Review and understand the contract drawings and specifications, RFI’s, change orders, testing procedures, etc.
Facilitate cross-functional meetings, identifying action items and driving solutions to successful completion.
Job Qualifications
8 years of experience in managing large, highly complex, outside plant or FTTH projects
Work with and coordinate schedules for multiple projects or assignments at the same time
Experience managing or overseeing OSP underground construction, such as direct bury, conduit placement, directional bore placement, trenching, plowing and rock saw, and placed existing duct.
Knowledgeable of various underground construction methods, such as experience with manhole systems, placed pads for cabinets, etc.
Experience in drilling in rock, sand and clay.
Experience in managing right of way and structure owner negotiations, relationships and ensuring contractor compliance to requirements.
Excellent problem solving skills
Effective communication skills to work with vendors, property owners, ROW controllers, etc.
Understanding of Make Ready Engineering and Construction.
Ability to read, understand, and inspect design plans to ensure the network is being installed to meet company specifications
Good computer skills in working with the Microsoft Office Suite of tools and the ability to work with tablets.
