Qualifications
Looking for a minimum 5 years in CATV for supervisors, particularly in underground construction with working knowledge of directional boring, stitch boring, hand and machine trench. Aerial construction experience is preferred but not necessary. Sub-contractors must have verifiable references in their respective field.
Other Requirements
Sub-contractors must have own vehicle, tools, liability & W/C insurance. Will be looking for underground as well as aerial construction crews. Stitch boring is preferred. Aerial construction is 100% street side, new construction (strand & fiber). There may be some overlash as well.
Job Description
Supervisor positions require strong working knowledge of underground construction techniques. Must have clean driver license (CDL a plus) and be drug free. Duties will require managing in-house and sub-contract construction crews, red-lining prints, white line for locates, fill out production reports, track attendance and hours for in-house employees, control supplies.
Underground sub-contractors will be required to be capable of reading prints and building to design. Proper construction techniques must be adhered to. Will be responsible for calling for locates, placing conduit by open cut or stitch bore, pulling in cable and placing splice enclosures. Sub will also be responsible for all restoration of construction areas. Stitch bore is preferred method but hand trench will be allowed.
Aerial sub-contractors will be required to be capable of reading prints and building to design. Proper construction techniques must be adhered to. Will be responsible for framing poles, running strand, dual lash fiber to strand, pull through any underground dips, place anchors, run down or overhead guys, place guy guards and risers. MOT will be provided.
All sub-contractors will be required to provide own vehicles, tools, compressors, cable trailers, etc. Liability and worker's compensation insurance is mandatory.
We will consider an in-house aerial crew if you have the experience but do not have the tools, vehicles or other necessities.
