Job Summary:
Seeking experienced supervisor to lead an underground directional boring crew. The Supervisor is responsible for coordinating, delegating, supervising and quality control of jobsite. Responsible for performance and productivity of all crew members and accuracy of all related documentation.
Job Description:
o Leads crew activities providing guidance and direction to crew members on the job site
o Supervise men hand digging, missile boring, directional drilling, and insure proper depth is maintained.
o Safely operate horizontal directional drill in accordance with design prints, and insure that all utilities being crossed by bore path have been spotted and accurately marked.
o Restores job site environment to its original condition
o Operates equipment related to the job
o Maintains company equipment, and delegates fueling and greasing of equipment
o Review and interpret proposal drawings and specifications, and confirm its completion according to prints
o Accurately white lining projected path of construction according to design prints.
o Interact with contractors and field personnel regarding work completion and resolve conflicts when necessary
o Daily reporting and verifying correctness of documents from field including daily work production, JSA’S, and employee attendance.
o Adheres to all State, Local and Federal rules and regulations, and always provide a safe work environment for you and the crew
o Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Physical demands:
o Ability to work in various environments/settings with moderate to loud noise levels and in close proximity to vehicular traffic.
o Able to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted
o Ability to stand, stoop, walk, or sit for long periods of time
Requirements:
o High school diploma or GED preferred
o 2-4 years of underground / utility supervisory experience preferred, or 4-6 years of supervisory related construction industry experience
o Previous experience in operating Ditch Which JT9 or equivalent preferred, and previous rock boring experience a plus
o General knowledge of underground utility construction practices
o Must possess a valid Driver’s License, CDL is a plus but is not required
o Strong problem-solving skills, highly organized, efficient time management, and multi-tasking skills
o Strong leadership skills
o IPad proficiency a plus
o Good understanding of OSHA and DOT requirements
o Willing to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours as required by the workload
o Must be able to work under pressure
o Highly motivated individuals are desired
