Must have experience with the techniques, application and installation of power, grounding, Optical Systems, Networks and devices particularly in the local access and transport systems application. Familiarity with the Bellcore system best practices. Must have fundamental experience in troubleshooting Optical transmission systems equipment.
Job Description
The COEI Manager is responsible for managing implementation team(s) or other resources that cooperatively work with Project Management, Operations, Logistics, and Sales to install, test and turn-up Central office equipment to our customers. This position fills the unique role of balancing requests from Wiseconnect Director and PM(s), sub-contractors, Wiseconnect customers. The Principal Installer's primary focus is managing the work of COEI installation/testing technicians and subcontractor forces working on site to ensure correct installation and turn up of various data/telecom systems to include but not limited to (Adtran, Calix, Ciena) as well as various types and arrangements of 48VDC power plants and sub-systems.
On-Site meetings and communication with various trades, inspectors, architects, consultants, developers and clients are required. During the day duties and responsibilities, the Principal Installer will continue to balance other various operational activities for quality improvement processes, improvements to standard operating procedures (SOP) ensuring field resources are meeting service level agreements (SLA) in the specified region.
The COEI Manager has five main areas of responsibility:
• Regional Deployment
• Installation
• QA/QC
• Training
• Project completions
In terms of "hands-on" effort, these are listed in priority. When subordinates or sub-contractors are necessary to operate optimally, the Implementation Manager/Sr Installer will delegate and support the lead technicians in their efforts. The Implementation Manager/Sr Installer will also approve subordinate's time sheets and schedule overtime and vacations and training.
Additionally, the COEI Manager:
• Recruits and engages contractors under the approval of the COEI director when needed; dismisses contractors as warranted
• Maintains personal relationships and good communication with property staff, clients, other sub
contractors or any other required points of contact
• Provides technical, procedural and product guidance to our field technicians and contractors;
instructs all field personnel in proper administrative procedures
• Identifies and coordinates local contract labor for projects in region
