Work is full-time and compensation is at or above industry standard. Currently have over one year of work in front of us. Additional compensation allotted for professionals with their own equipment and vehicles.
Qualifications
Seeking experienced fiber splicing technicians. Positions available in So. CA (LA County), Central Valley (Fresno, Sacramento Stockton) and the Bay Area.
Two years minimum experience. Successful applicants will have extensive knowledge of the proper use and maintenance of fusion machines, OTDRs, power meters and tools of the trade. Applicants must be able to demonstrate proficiency in reading and identifying fiber schematics (cut sheets).
Other Requirements
Candidates must be available for scheduled work at night as required. Preference given to applicants with coax splicing background and/or broadband technicians.
Job Description
Job Duties:
Ability to fusion or mechanical splice fiber optic cables, to include terminating various types of fiber optic connectors
Work with PM’s to perform fusion splicing as directed
Installation and testing of pressurized and non-pressurized closures on all types and sizes of cable
Develop standards and specifications for splice drawings and prepare drawing per the specifications
Experience and knowledge using Fiber Optic Scope and or a Fiber OTTER
Installation and dressing of fiber optic cables (vertical/horizontal)
Serve as a resource to the internal staff on matters concerning splicing practices and procedures
Provide management with detailed reports of field splicing activity
Maintain fiber asset inventory and splicing records
Manage multiple projects at one time
Organize splicing as-builds files utilizing software packages for in-house fiber cable inventory and route designs
Communicate with Project Manager and Team Leaders on workload status in order to meet designated goals
Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic that can provide high productivity with minimal supervision
