Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to apply leadership skills effectively. In-depth knowledge of broadband installation technology, methods and procedures. In-depth knowledge of broadband network technology, maintenance and repair. Knowledge & understanding of the testing and reporting of technical proofs of performance. Knowledge of all aspects of CATV operations as defined by performance and maintenance of equipment and electronics operating parameters.

Other Requirements

Work indoors in poorly ventilated areas such as attics during extreme heat. Work performed near power lines and electricity. Work, including travel, outdoors in adverse weather conditions day or night. Exposure to dust, dirt, noise, insects, cleaning solutions.

Job Description

Job Summary: Under general supervision the Plant Manager I provides support and development at one or more systems to supervisors with primary focus on the installation and service fulfillment of all products and services provided by Suddenlink and the maintenance and repair of the transport and distribution. Responsible for managing the work of the Broadband Technician, Construction and Headend personnel. Responsible for the management of plant operation processes and systems including preventative maintenance, demand service and installation, and subcontractor labor. Works with other members of the management team to develop and implement strategic plans to achieve department goals. Responsible for all installation and fulfillment activities and network maintenance and repair activities which contribute to customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

Provides quality internal and external customer service surrounding the Company values.
Maintain organization’s stability and reputation by complying with all local, state and federal legal requirements and advising management on needed actions.
Develop staff by providing information, training, coaching, educational opportunities and experiential growth/opportunities.
Manages installation and fulfillment function.
Manages plant maintenance and Headend function.
Serves as role model for subordinates in all areas of the business.
Oversee that supplies, inventory and usage is maintained by monitoring and analyzing reports and physical observation.
Promotes safety awareness among employees and assures compliance with safety regulations and reporting. Ensures that subordinates have proper safety equipment and follow safety policies. Ensures that disciplinary action regarding violations of safety policy are enforced.
Maintain a safe operating and sound fleet by directing and ensuring schedules are followed on vehicle maintenance and necessary repairs are performed.
Supports and drives the development of the technical operations sales culture.
Interviews, coaches, trains, monitors and evaluates subordinates and broadband technicians fostering a team environment.
Spends majority of time in the field observing, supporting and developing technicians. Rides with BBTs to monitor and assess technical and customer service performance and quality.
Assures the quality of installations, maintenance and repairs meets company standards and customer expectations.
Assures network outages are addressed and resolved with timeliness and repairs meet company and regulatory standards.
Assures the completion of scheduled work by overseeing daily activities.
Provides direction and participates in the repair of escalated technical issues.
Helps resolve complex customer issues.
Manages tech performance metrics, evaluates performance gaps and develops techs knowledge, skills and abilities to meet company and customer expectations.
Monitors system key performance indicators, and manages operations to meet or exceed system goals.
Prepares and monitors expense and capital budgets to assure cost effective expenditures in the department.
Manages contractor utilization within budgetary guidelines.
Manages the headend to ensure functionality and compliance with company standards.
Manages local facilities including building and grounds maintenance.
Manages construction activities according to company guidelines.
Manages fleet according to company policies and procedures. Ensures that all vehicles are properly registered and licensed by reviewing logs of such requirements and assigning the responsibility.
Manages inventory control and maintenance by performing vehicle, tools and materials inspections for BBTs.
Other duties as assigned.
