Job Description and Responsibilities :
Summary
NX Utilities LLC is a telecom and utility construction company with over 13 years of experience in the industry, with a large and diverse customer base reaching from coast to coast. Our 16 divisional offices support operations in most major markets in our North American Foot-print.
NX Utilities LLC is seeking a full time Surveyor to complete field serviceability surveys to connect commercial buildings, multi-tenant structures, stand alone buildings to our clients network services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Attend customer requested site visits to prospective customer locations to determine best and most effective ways to install fiber optic networks at those facilities
Develop and complete associated paperwork (sketches of ISP pathways, drawings, including site survey paperwork, address listings, bill of materials, associated pictures and cost estimates, construction plans and project time lines)
Identify any issues or obstacles preventing a successful installation of network
Meet with clients and address and resolve any issues preventing the project receiving approval to move forward
Identify customers network and review proposed methods of construction to ensure that all local, state, federal requirements are in compliance
Other duties as assigned
Requirements :
Education:
High school diploma plus 3 years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
3 years’ experience utilizing AutoCAD, and/or Focus, Bentley, Bluebeam PDF writer, Vision
Experience interpreting CATV or Telecom construction/contractor blueprints & as-builds a must
Experience with multi family construction practices, understanding routing of telecom wiring from point to point
Experience in a customer interfacing or project coordination role preferred
Technical Skills:
Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
Ability to operate a laser range finder & measuring wheels
Proficient use of a wireless tablet
Can describe in writing or in images/pictures proposed routing of telecom wiring and projected construction methods and process
Soft Skills:
Highly organized and detail orientated
Ability to think analytically and apply sound judgment, solve problems, make effective decisions, and act with integrity
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
Individuals must have a valid driver’s license and driving record meeting the company policy conditions
Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes
Must be able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces
