Qualifications
Clear understanding of installation and quality standards contained in AT&T TP76300. Proven record indicating the ability to successfully lead jobs resulting in high quality, zero safety incidences and great efficiency. Must have keen judgment and troubleshooting capability when managing exceptions. Requires professional and thorough communications at all times.
Other Requirements
~ Ability to work in all weather conditions, in small awkward spaces, on ladders and at various heights.
~ Ability to work out of town Monday through Friday and some weekends.
~ Active DOT Medical Certification Card, be a driver in good standing and maintain a driver’s license that enables you to drive vehicles or combo vehicles greater than 10,000 lbs but less than 26,000 lbs.
Job Description
~ Installation of cable, wiring, and telecommunications equipment in Central Office facilities. Installers are familiar with iron work/bays/equipment rack installation, DC power know-how, wire wrapping/color code understanding, blueprint, schematic reading and method of procedures.
~ Analyze, plan, layout and assign installation activity to other installation personnel.
~ Install aux bar, cable rack, and fiber duct. Mount bays, frames, cabinets and equipment within.
~ Run, lace, label and test power, fiber and copper cabling. Power cabling includes h-taps, inline splicing, and termination to BDFB.
~ Copper cabling includes DS1 wire wrapping, DSX3 BNC connections, and CAT5. Fiber cabling includes video scoping and light level testing. Cable runs can include closing of cable holes with Hilti and 3M systems.
~ Communicate with various teams on project status and issue resolution. Driving quality and cost management.
~ Communicate job specific details with co-workers routinely and effectively via both written and oral avenues.
