Qualifications
• Ability to do the essential Duties
• Ability to understand, communicate and follow English instructions.
• Ability to read safety rules and directives, read and understand prints.(High School a plus)
• Able to work the time necessary to see the job completed, (Open-ended work day due to drilling requirements).
• Must be willing to travel.
• Have a valid CDL Driver License.
• Demonstrate knowledge of; Job site Safety Systems, Safe Excavation and Digging Tech

Job Description
Under various levels of supervision and qualifications, the operator will be expected to:
1. Always comply with proper safety standards / procedures and work practices according to Infratech or the customer, whichever standard is more stringent.
2. Report all personal injuries & vehicle accidents / incidents immediately to foreman, supervisor or manager.
3. Primary duty is to know how to properly set up and operate all digger derricks, bucket trucks, pullers / tensioners and other URD auxiliary equipment.
4. Have knowledge of proper rigging for lifts, tensioning and load capacities for equipment to be operated.
5. Know Safety Systems associated with operating equipment, setting up and emergency procedures for URD vehicles and associated auxiliary equipment.
6. Know industry recognized hand signals
7. Know how to properly secure loads for transport
8. Know and understand Minimum Approach Distances (MAD)
9. Know and perform proper daily maintenance of the OH & URD equipment.
10. Safely spot utilities when digging holes of excavating.
11. Know how to assist in the handling materials, hand tools, protective cover and hot sticks.
12. Moving and loading materials.
13. Site clean-up.
14. Dig pits and trenches as directed by supervision.
15. Restoration and landscaping disturbed areas of the job site.
16. Know and understand the operation of support equipment, digging equipment
17. Mentor, demonstrate job skills, procedures and techniques in this position and below to Crewman and Helpers.
18. Demonstrate an aptitude to learn the duties required of Lineman Apprentice position.
19 Know Safe Work Practices and procedures involved URD construction.
20. Have knowledge in URD cable pulling operations.
21. Have knowledge in cable terminating and splicing tools and materials
22. Knowledge of Basic Electricity.
