Lineman Or Apprentice Lineman
POSITION SUMMARY
This is skilled work of apprentice lineman (minimum) level in the construction, maintenance, and operation of underground and overhead telecommunications plant. The work involves the performance of skilled tasks in accordance with standard trade practices in construction, operation, and maintenance of telecommunications plant. Tulsa OK and surrounding areas including NE Texas, NW Louisiana and SW Arkansas
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Lineman will be responsible for performing the following duties:
Knowledge of materials and tools used in line construction and maintenance work.
Installs, operates, maintains and repairs overhead and underground telecommunications plant
Performing duties which include stringing wires, setting poles and anchors, cutouts, cables and associated system components
Locate trouble in telecommunication cables and wires
Operate motorized equipment
Performs maintenance on telecommunication equipment
Respond to emergency call out
Ensure safety guidelines
Maintain line vehicles and equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least eighteen years of age.
HS Diploma or GED required.
Clean background check for access to restricted and/or controlled areas.
Valid Class A or B (with air brake rider) driver license with acceptable driving record. (Or willing to obtain one)
Ability to pass random drug screens and to remain drug and alcohol free.
Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Remove this

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to look beyond the standard solutions.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 1 year apprentice lineman experience
Telecom experience preferred
Ability to perform heavy manual tasks relation to line construction.
Ability to work under any type of weather conditions.
Must be able to work independently or as part of a team and relate well to co-workers.
Requires the availability for call out, including some mandatory overtime.
May require weekend and holiday work when necessary.
Some travel may be required, including overnight stays and out-of-town assignments and/or training.
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds periodically to properly locate utility lines.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds in a physical environment.
Ability to stand and walk for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes.
Regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes and variety of terrains.
Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
Dependable and trustworthy.
