Fiber Splicer - Cleveland, Akron, Youngstown

And…we are looking for a fiber splicer for outside cable placement that has a background in fiber optic splicing documentation practices. Experience with understanding engineering and splicing drawings is required.
Job Duties:
Ability to fusion or mechanical splice fiber optic cables, to include terminating various types of fiber optic connectors
Work with OSP PM’s to perform fusion splicing as directed
Installation and testing of pressurized and non-pressurized closures on all types and sizes of cable
Develop standards and specifications for splice drawings and prepare drawing per the specifications
Experience and knowledge using Fiber Optic Scope and or a Fiber OTTER
Installation and dressing of fiber optic cables (vertical/horizontal)
Serve as a resource to the internal staff on matters concerning splicing practices and procedures
Provide management with detailed reports of field splicing activity
Maintain fiber asset inventory and splicing records
Manage multiple projects at one time
Organize splicing as-builds files utilizing software packages for in-house fiber cable inventory and route designs
Communicate with Project Manager and Team Leaders on workload status in order to meet designated goals
Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic that can provide high productivity with minimal supervision
Requirements:
2+ years of splicing experience
Education Level: High School, a combination of education and experience is acceptable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possess exceptional organizational skills and be detail oriented
Ability to interact effectively with other team members
Capable of working under pressure in a fast paced and quickly changing work environment with deadlines
Ability to work independently without supervision
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally required to stand, walk, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls
The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus
In addition, the position may require frequent movement and activity relating to using keyboards, viewing data on computer displays and communicating verbally and in writing
Working Conditions: Work is normally performed in outdoor settings. Outdoor work may be required in the inspection of buried cable, construction sites, and field facilities.
Performance of the position requires working safely and may require working outdoors in all weather conditions.
