Job Description
Purpose of Position: Under general supervision, responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of the plant, including the trunk and distribution system. Perform routine maintenance and repairs while providing technical support for the resolution of service related problems. Contribute to the company’s success in customer service through quality, commitment, courtesy and teamwork.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot and repair problems associated with RF, AC, DC, portion of the forward and reverse plant,
such as transmission levels, signal losses, off-air interference, including troubleshooting of optical power
• Perform routine balancing, aligning, and adjustment of components and equipment used to amplify and process signals
• Test main trunk lines using signal level meters, volt-OHM meters, spectrum analyzers and other related test equipment on a regular basis, compare findings in the field with documentation. Test power supply on a regular basis and perform field engineering walkout as required
• Monitor and record system leakage and repair drop leakage; comply with requirements outlined in applicable regulations (such as: OSHA/FCC/NEC)
• Complete and maintain accurate records including work orders, daily logs and other necessary paperwork
• Collect, analyze and present information on an accurate and timely basis; compile data for inclusion in FCC reports; maintain records, conduct tests, and prepare reports as required in a timely and accurate manner
• After Hours Standby duty
• Clean, maintain, stock, and secure assigned vehicle and equipment
• Perform other duties as requested by supervisor
Qualifications:
• Valid driver's license
• Satisfactory driving record
• Auto insurance
• Ability to work indoors in poorly ventilated areas such as attics during extreme heat
• Exposure to dust, dirt, noise, insects, cleaning solutions
• Work outdoors in all kinds of weather and at all times of the day or night
• Work performed near power lines and electricity
• Work and travel in inclement weather
• System Tech I assessment within 12 months
