Midco is investing in more advanced gigabit Internet technology, which will be delivered to most customers by the end of 2017.

The Vice President of Technology at Midco has four main responsibilities and accountabilities.

Responsible to monitor, manage, and improve Midco’s network performance and reliability, with the goal of being the most reliable network in North America.

Responsible to be the primary internal liaison between the Technology Group and the rest of the company.

On behalf of the Technology Group (TG), serve as the lead person and coordinator for all new product investigations and implementations.

Serve as the primary back-up to the company’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible to monitor, manage, and improve Midco’s network performance and reliability and serve as the lead and coordinator for all new product investigations and implementations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Relentlessly improve all aspects of network reliability, including traffic management and reporting, node status and need for node splits, internal communication, and planning plant changes and upgrades to avoid traffic or reliability issues.

Work closely with the Business major/key accounts group to ensure that all service level agreements are met and that this group of highly important, highly visible clients experience outstanding network reliability and customer experience.

Oversees all Technology Group facilities planning, policies, procedures and regulations. The Technology Group facilities are head-ends, internal Midco datacenters, and key network access points.

Initiates and supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

Makes the in-home experience, including Wi-Fi, more reliable and better for residential customers.

Evaluates and consults with company leaders regarding technical operations, strategic planning, network operations, and new product development and deployment.

Ensure field compliance with network engineering standards, policies and procedures.

Support the enhancement of hardware and software systems that supports field operations applications.

Represent the Technology Group on Big Data projects in working with Managed Information Systems.

Align systems, programs, and people with the company strategy and culture.

Manage, deliver and lead several initiatives simultaneously.

Be willing and able to travel in accordance with Midco’s “Use of Vehicle for Company Business” policy.

Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers.

Adhere to Midco’s privacy guidelines to ensure each customer’s privacy.

Maintain regular attendance as required by your position.
