CONSTRUCTION DIRECTOR

And…we are currently looking for a Construction Director with a strong background in utility construction and 3-5 years of experience managing large fiber builds.

Position Summary:

This individual will be responsible for overseeing successful construction of our large Fiber Build project. This position will provide vision, direction, and management to current and future employees and sub-contractors and act as our liaison with our Engineering and Construction client.
Job Duties:
• Ensures compliance and documentation of all applicable safety requirements
• Motivate, mentor and provide direction to our field management team
• Analyze construction projects, track costs and improve processes
• Prepare and ensure that project goals are met on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis
• Investigate project cost variances while ensuring that efficient processes are in place
• Ensure projects are completed in a timely manner
• Effective communicator and influencer
• Resolves issues affecting projects scope, quality, effort, risk, and timeline
• Creates and manages contingency plans for the projects
• Reviews and provides feedback on projects deliverables (product requirements, functional specifications, etc.)
• Analyzes operation needs and incorporates this into estimates for additional services/features/installation or for changes to approved design
• Responsible for construction job cost, maintenance and manpower scheduling
• Develops and utilizes process to alert key people of conditions and delays that may negatively affect deliverables and or costs for each project
• Receive and review site documentation
• Prepare Site Bill of Material (BOM) for approval
• Schedule material and crews for site construction
• Monitor site construction, site budget, and the manpower for the project
Qualifications:
• BS Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering or related field and/or equivalent experience
• Three or more years of progressive leadership experience, including management of Construction or Telecommunications built project
• Ability to think pro-actively and problem solving skills
• Established interpersonal skills and customer focus approach
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Applications such as Project, Excel, and Word
• Proven ability to consistently meet or exceed deadline expectations
• Experience managing large capital projects
• Handles challenges and deadlines well
• Capable in managing multiple design construction schedules and responses
• Competent with understanding and reading construction documents
• Familiar with all facets of OSP management, including quoting, construction and delivery
• Strong negotiation skills
• Business minded and able to maintain a commercial focus
