Job Description
Aerial Crews needed for upcoming projects in Knoxville,TN beginning June 2016. Projects include 75+ mile overlash, county edge out plans and make ready work.
Experienced line crews for aerial construction and maintenance of fiber and coax. Successful companies will be able to perform all required tasks to specs. Initiative and prideful workmanship is a must.
Position summary:
The ideal Aerial Crew is responsible for new construction, repair and installation of fiber and coax lines and have experience working with the hanging of fiber/coax on power or telecommunication poles.
Tasks:
• Performs all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment.
• Responds to and participates in emergency and outage situations that require heavy construction capabilities.
• Repairs, replaces and relocates aerial and underground cable plant including fiber optic, transportation, distribution and drop cable. Ensures plant construction meets industry standards, is technically reliable and performed in timely and cost efficient manner.
• Repairs and maintains major cable system and structures such as broken lashing, replacing or re-sagging aerial strand, pole transfers, down-guys, aerial to underground conversion, substructure repairs and cable replacements related to system outages, maintenance, rebuilds and emergencies or hazards.
• Obey traffic laws, and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
• Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
• Maintain records such as vehicle logs, in accordance with regulations.
