Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will possess:
Three (3) - five (5) years of experience in building and maintaining an outside plant communications network;
High proficiency in splicing and testing copper and coaxial cables preferred;
Three (3) - five (5) years of experienced in pole climbing, ladder and bucket truck use;
Valid driver license and satisfactory driving record per Grande's Fleet Policy.
Job Description
The Broadband Network Fiber Technician is responsible for splicing, testing and preparing test documentation on fiber optic cable along backbone fiber routes in all Grande markets.
In this role, the primary responsibilities include:
Fiber splicing on maintenance and emergency restoration projects for all Grande markets;
Submitting splicing as-builts to OSP Engineering within 48-hours of completion of assigned work;
Submitting all test documentation to the Manager of Network Construction within 48-hours, including bi-directional OTDR and Power Meter shots at 1310nm and 1550nm;
Monitoring and tracking all materials for each assigned project and providing a material usage report to the Manager of Network Construction;
Drives a company vehicle in the course and scope of performing duties;
Other duties as assigned.
