Job Description


Damaged and new plant inside/outside

Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Perform aerial utility pole line construction and coaxial splicing
• Maintain Coax/Fiber systems and diagnose network related problems
• Utilize specialized test equipment to troubleshoot networks.
• Perform pole transfers, set anchors, and rearrange existing pole attachments to clear power violations
• Comply with OSHA and industry safety requirements
• Work in high traffic conditions with the ability properly setup signs/cones, control and direct traffic
• Ensure work is completed is neat and professional manner per company guidelines
• Possess good planning, organizational and logical problem solving skills
• Work well on a crew, as well as individual assignments to complete jobs
• Emergency response when storm damage or disasters cause network outages
Position Requirements:
• Able to perform physical labor in outdoor weather environments
• Able to carry 28’ extension ladder and climb to heights above 20’
• Able to identify and work in proximity of primary, secondary line voltages and other hazards
• Perform work in utility bucket trucks and aerial lifts on utility pole lines in a safe manner
• Climb utility poles when required
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Properly use and maintain PPE provided and follow safety procedures
• Ability to work with specialized test equipment, hand tools and all types of motorized equipment
• Perform pole line construction (strand, aerial fiber and coax on existing utility poles)
• Rearrange existing pole attachments at minimum heights of 18’
• Potential weekend work when required to maintain project schedules
• Perform construction work such as digging holes to repair cables, placing cable/fiber in trenches or pulling in conduit
• General computer skill.
• Assess all types of job conditions and hazards prior to performing work
• Possess good communications skills
• Maintain logs, checklists and write job reports on a daily basis
• Possess a valid driver license with a clean driving record
• Able to read blueprints, design prints, SOW’s and product training manuals
