Fiber splicers and Cable Pullers needed for local fiber project-looking to add existing fiber to network to add capacity to local customer.
Job Description
Fiber splicer must have the ability to splice fiber optic cable in both indoor and outdoor settings, have knowledge of construction practices for Outside Plant cable placement, ability to read, interpret, and update splicing schematics and diagrams. This candidate must have telecommunications experience and have the ability to travel as needed.
Candidate must be able to splice fiber optic cables including both loose tube and ribbon cables, and build proper splice cases and fiber termination panels. Candidate must have ability to fusion splice and terminate various types of fiber optic connectors
Candidate must have experience and knowledge using OTDR and Fusion splicing machines in additional to other commonly used tools and test equipment. Splicer must be able to interpret buried underground and aerial as-builts and splice schedules.
Candidate must have knowledge of Installation and dressing of fiber optic cabling. Candidate must be able to train and support team growth and be able to develop training material to build additional splicing team.
Cable Pullers- Experienced with Broadband
• Broadband splicing capabilities, no major equipment, Rodder and Mule Tape to pull
• Performing manual labor tasks for installing fiber optic plant for customer
• Support function to dig dirt, help place cable, help put in conduits
• Cable pulling- rodding and roping, hand pulling
• Need to know what a compression connector is, node, knowledge of hybrid HFC- network hybrid fiber coax
• Need to know how to pull right power plug-rodder and mule tape
• Comfortable working with hand tools
