Job Description and Responsibilities :
NX Utilities LLC is a leading provider of installation, construction and site acquisition services to the wireless industry. Our customers include wireless, wireline, fiber, and cable providers. With 16 office locations across the United States and workforce over 500 qualified professionals, NX Utilities is a "preferred" vendor to a wide array of telecom firms.
Due to exceptional growth, NX Utilities LLC is seeking a Quality Control Manager in Houston, TX. The Quality Control Manager is responsible to identify work, inspect completed work, issue reports on findings, & maintain files to ensure the quality of service performed for by our crews and subcontractors is performed to meet and exceed our customer’s standards and specifications.
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare, obtain approval, issue and implement company quality control (assurance) program manual in compliance with owner contract and company requirements
Be responsible for the interaction with customer, agencies, subcontractors and internal departments on quality related matters including performance activities such as audits, program setup, program planning etc.
Reports to company management as required by either regulatory requirements or by corporate structure
As required by quality control program manual, perform activities such as audits, preparation of company standards, notification to management of quality problems, etc.
Responsible for Quality Control program implementation
Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising Quality Control Inspectors. Will perform, activities such as audits, program setup, program planning etc.
Provide administrative and technical direction to all quality control personnel - includes personnel administration, resolution of technical problems, development/approval of in-house training, etc.
Ensure company standards as outlined in quality control (assurance) manual are effectively implemented
Ensure adequate corrective measures are implemented in cases of noncompliance
Work with our customers to develop QC standards, checklists and field procedure documentation
Interact, develop and maintain relationships with QC counterparts within our customers organizations
Inspect the work performed by our crews and subcontractors prior to final customer walkthrough to ensure all specifications have been met
Perform real time inspections evaluating safety, appearance and customer experience
Truck Inspections
Handle all customer Quality complaints, questions and develop solutions
Adhere to safety policies
Other duties as assigned
Requirements :
Qualifications
Education:
Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred plus five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
5 years experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or Quality Management
5 years Underground Construction & MDU experience
Aerial Construction
Technical Skills:
Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency, including use of graphics, word processing, and electronic spreadsheet applications
Soft Skills:
Knowledge of basic supervisory and employee management principles
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
Highly organized and detail orientated
Above average scheduling and time management skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
Individuals must have a valid driver’s license and driving record meeting the company policy conditions
Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes
Must be able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces
Travel up to 100% of the time, including short notice travel. Travel may include local site travel or national travel depending on training needs
