Certified experience in fiber optic cable design, Networks and testing of existing fiber optic cable plant.

Project is located on a military facility. Background check required prior to access. Required tools will be provided by the company. References a must.

Henkels and McCoy is searching for a Project Engineer/ Fiber Specialist candidate for the scope of work listed below. This project timeline is estimated at 14 months. This project will require onsite attendance. Coordination with the PM Team, Military and field operations is integral to this position. Computer skills, project schedules are items required for the successful candidate. H&M provides a drug free workplace. Pre-employment, random and post incident testing is required of employees. This position can be full time or on a contract basis depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate. Full time employees will have insurance and 401k options available.


Project Engineer - Fiber Specialist:

Experienced and knowledgeable on all fiber optic cable field installation methods and standards.
Experienced and knowledgeable on all fiber optic hardware for fusion splicing and termination
Experienced and knowledgeable on all fiber optic connector types - ST, SC, LC … etc.
Experienced and knowledgeable on all fiber optic cable types & construction - ribbon, loosetube, tight-buffer … etc.
Experienced and knowledgeable on preparation and splicing of different types of fiber optic cable - ribbon-to-loose tube … etc..
Experienced and knowledgeable on various fiber optic cable splicing techniques - straight splicing, ring-cuts, ribbon splicing … etc.
Experienced and knowledgeable on various fiber optic cable testing methods - OTDR, Optical power meter, OLIM, fiber characterization ...
Experienced and knowledgeable on various fiber optic cable testing plans & record sets.
Knowledgeable on cable design, splicing, record-keeping methods, symbology, & terminology
Experience in testing existing cable plant
Experience in identifying and documenting individual components of existing cable plant
