Job Description
NexGen Directional, LLC, based in Olney, IL, is searching for experienced Driller/Locator/Vac crews that are self-motivated and driven individuals for its new Utility Directional Drilling Division. The initial focus will be the installation of residential fiber optic cable infrastructure throughout Louisville, KY. Long term work in this area (multiyear). These crew members will be responsible for operating a Directional Drill, Locating, Vac Potholing and managing crews which will be running a variety of Ditch Witch directional drilling equipment; Directional Drill (JT9 & JT20) Trencher/Plow, Excavator, Vac Trailers (FX30), etc. All the equipment and vehicles are brand new (2016) with latest generation Subsite locators and gear.

This position will be offered incentive based pay options in the form of Performance Bonuses, as well as a Base Salary and Per Diem that will be determined from qualifications and experience. Duties & Responsibilities
•Operates drilling equipment and various other construction equipment
•Experience drilling in both standard and high-risk areas, such as areas with live utilities safely
•Have knowledge of utility depths and placement
•Possess general knowledge of construction practices and be familiar with equipment
•Understand and follow company policies and procedures related to safety, and schedule all safety meetings.
•Ensure Company assets (vehicles, equipment, tools, etc.) are properly and continuously maintained in good repair and secured in a safe manner
•Ability to read blueprints
•Ability for extensive travel
Qualifications
•3+ year experience operating a directional drill and locator
•Prior experience managing crews of 2-6
•Existing supply and customer Contact Network and job bidding/estimating experience a big plus
•Ability to listen to and implement directions
•Relevant Safety & OSHA Training and Certifications
•Candidates must pass pre-employment testing (drug screen and background check)
•Must have experience with, gps, line locators, distance measurement with stakes & lasers, basic computer skills
•Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
•Must be able to climb up and down on equipment and at times you may be required to work in trenches, manholes, tunnels, and crawl spaces
•Ability to work in all weather conditions; this includes extreme temperature
•Class A CDL license or ability to quickly obtain it
•Spanish Speaking Preferred
