About the Role:
The CAD Technician is responsible for the creation/modification of Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) and Fiber to the premise (FTTP) outside plant (OSP) network drawings from concept to final design. This position will create drawings that will be properly detailed to convey the necessary information required to construct and maintain OSP network infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
• Liaison with project coordinators and facilitators to provide quality drawings
• Develop, create, recommend, design new drawings and standardize it for multi-site application. Include fix/edit in existing drawing to conform to the company’s current acceptable design standards
• Create CAD drawings from concept to final design, drawn to scale, suitably detailed to convey the necessary information required for approval
• Check and correct any mistakes within the drawings
• Create new and innovative methods to improve the quality of company’s drawings and the drawing process
• Complete tasks within prescribed time limit
Requirements:
• Civil, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering/Technology certification is preferred
• Work experience within a civil engineering environment is an asset
• Work experience in the telecommunication and/or utility industry is an asset
• Must be proficient with AutoCAD version 2010 or higher
• Understanding of Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
• Understanding of map projections eg. Latitude/Longitude, UTM
• Have experience digitizing plans
• Follow standard drafting and detailing procedures as set out by the client
• Experience with AutoCAD MAP, Micro-Station, and/or ESRI ArcInfo an asset
• Experience with Synchronoss SpatialNet would be an asset
• Able to work in high paced environment
