POSITION SUMMARY
The field supervisor position requires a dynamic, industrious, and detail-oriented individual. Reporting to the Local Manager, this role will have on-site responsibility for all aspects of the daily production and compliance of their assigned sub and in house crews.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The field supervisor will be responsible for performing the following duties:
• Work on-site with crews placing plant with directional drills, backhoes, etc.
• Ensure quality by completing field inspections.
• Communicate with supervisor on daily basis to ensure due dates are met.
• Direct and communicate with sub-contractors to ensure quality of work.
• Verify billing of field jobs.
• Keep cable inventory log and/or materials.
• Investigate customer complaints.
• Responsible for reporting delayed jobs to supervisor.
• Conduct field audit to verify worker badges and certifications.
• Verify while on job site workers use Safe Dig practices.
• Responsible for turning in weekly time sheets.
• Direct daily work of in house crew supervisors.
• Must insure all regulations are followed.
• Responsible for contacting designated individuals when damages occur.
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment to complete project
• Complete damage reports, take photos, and collect names and comments from utility owners involved in the damage investigation.
• Perform other work related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Buried infrastructure or telecom experience preferred but not necessary.
• Current and valid driver’s license with good record to operate company provided vehicle.
• Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
• Dependable and trustworthy.
• Ability to be internally inspired to perform a task to the best of one’s ability using his or her own drive or initiative.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to look beyond the standard solutions.
• Ability to use analytical thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.
