Job Description and Responsibilities :
This position is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the training and development of new hires joining the NX Utilities Design and Engineering Team as well as acting as a resource for future career development. The Design Trainer will oversee the development and implementation of training strategies, plans, and processes to support organizational goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
Execute all developed training programs, with a focus on new hire training related to client software packages, required work packages in the appropriate sequenced steps, and completion of telecom designs
Coordinate with local managers on all aspects of training delivery and follow-up
Track and monitor performance of new employees after completion of training; reinitiate training if competencies are weak
Develop and conduct ongoing training and development classes for all employees to drive productivity and reinforce best practices
Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs
Impart telecom methodology to ensure our Design and Engineering Team is in compliance with client requirements
Other duties as assigned

Experience with instruction or training required
Experience with development of training methods and standards in conjunction with subject matter experts
Experience interpreting construction/contractor blueprints and design maps preferred but not required
Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
Basic understanding of CAD and telecom design software
Skill in mentoring and training employees with varying educational backgrounds and aptitudes
Experience building and maintaining interpersonal relationships, managing conflict, solving problems, and handling multiple assignments
Ability to design and deliver strong, engaging presentations
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
Individuals must have a valid driver’s license and driving record meeting the company policy conditions
Sitting at a desk for 6-8 hours a day
Working on a computer for 6-8 hours a day
Education:
Bachelor’s degree plus 2-5 years education or training experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience
