Job Description
Harris-McBurney Company is looking for foremen to supervise crews on a telecommunications SSP project in North and South Carolina. Candidates must be able to provide complete supervision and responsibility for the field operations including daily production, costs, safety, organization, and labor & equipment management. We need leaders that are able to meet deadlines and customer expectations. A strong background in copper and fiber OSP construction is required.
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
-Minimum 3 years of experience as a foreman/supervisor
-Strong communication and organizational skills
-Ability to prepare work plans and schedule & direct work crews
-Strong knowledge of OSP plans, prints, and specifications
-Understanding of working safely and OSHA requirements
-Strong knowledge of all aspects of OSP construction and inspection including copper, fiber, underground, aerial, splicing, and drops.
-Knowledge of standard underground utility placement equipment such as plow, drill, backhoe, and excavator
-Knowledge of local construction rules and regulations (permits, locates, DOT rules, etc.)
-Ability to work after hours for emergency work/repairs
-Experience with Frontier procedures and protocol is a plus
-Must have a valid driver’s license, CDL is preferred
-Pass pre-employment screening, including drug screen, criminal background, and I-9 verification
