Job Description
As a Construction Manager, you will manage daily operations of the construction staff, sub-contractors, and Project Managers while they are engaged in the construction, installation, and documentation of all project-related activities.
Construction Manager Responsibilities:
• Assisting in the identification and qualification of the various employees and sub-contractors required for the project, including all site and building trades.
• Providing coordination and input as needed with utility companies providing services and infrastructure for the project, including schedule and cost management.
• Promote and communicate monthly revenue and production goals.
• Developing initial project specific cost estimates and taking lead responsibility with the budgetary management of the various cost components of the project.
• Monitoring and ensuring schedule performance and quality workmanship of contractors.
• Daily management of project managers, crews, and sub-contractors.
• Provide direction and value to all employees and sub-contractors.
• Reviewing change proposals, proposal requests, and requests for information, supplemental instructions, and other contract documentation as required on behalf of the customer’s interests.
• Reviewing and approving crew and contractor payroll requests.
• Attending local meetings, approval meetings, and conferences on behalf of the customer; documenting and taking action on items in the customer’s interests.
• Maintaining and develop relationships with customers to better serve their needs.
• Coordinating with all departments to ensure we are operating in the correct manner.
• Serving as an information resource by coordinating customers work, participating in meetings, resolving disputes, providing ongoing feedback, and coordinating project punch list and close-out.
• Approve final red-line drawings and project documentation for billing purposes.
Job Requirements
High energy, strong decision making abilities, and good interpersonal skills are keys for success in this role. Skills and experience to ensure construction is completed in a timely and accurate manner according to client specifications.
• Related bachelor's degree, preferably in Construction Management or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of directly related leadership experience with construction background; telecommunications or cable construction experience is preferred.
• Strong consultative, organizational, and communication skills.
• Previous management experience as well as experience maintaining a good relationship with the employees, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers.
• Hands-on experience with directing the activities of contractors and crews.
• Ability to read engineering drawings maps.
• Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, Google Earth, AutoCAD and MS Project.
