We have been an engineering, splicing, and innerduct placement company in the Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland region for over 10 years. We utilize Fujikura FSM-50S Fusion Splicers, Exfo 920 MaxTest PMs and CMA4000 OTDR's. The splice work is typically scheduled at least a week ahead of time during a maintenance window (12a-6a); although, things can (and do) change at the last minute. We also maintain emergency response contracts, therefore we must be mobilized and/or in the field within 2 hours of receiving notification (24x7x365). We supply all tools. During projects, communication happens over a "bridge" or conference call. One must be able to communicate, think clearly and respond in a professional and prompt manner. The work is primarily during the week, although there may be an occasional need to work over a weekend. We work to the needs of the job at hand, so flexibility and availability are important.
