Job Description
The OSP Interference Engineer should be able to provide administrative and field support to the construction department for the management of utility interference.
Responsibilities:
Representing client’s interests on NYC Public Improvement Projects
Attend DOT & City project meetings
Interface with City officials, utility representatives and city contractors
Identify and monitor company’s interference on the city projects
Ensure that the clients’ facilities are supported and protected on these projects.
Maintain and provide appropriate documentation
Review and monitor field documentation and payment packages to ensure compliance with established guidelines
Qualifications:
Education in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience in OSP cable construction
Previous construction crew leadership experience is required with preference given to those with aerial and/or underground construction backgrounds.
Fiber construction experience is required.
Ability to read, understand and interpret construction plans, system prints and specifications and evaluate impact on client’s facilities
Experience with Word, Excel & AutoCAD
Travel
<20% of the time (mileage is reimbursed at a federal standard rate)
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred
5+ years’ experience with OSP Cable Construction
