Qualifications

• 1+ year experience operating a directional drill • 1+ year experience as a locator • Ability to listen to and implement directions • Candidates must pass pre-employment testing (MVR, drug screen and background check) • Must have basic computer skills in order to develop and maintain bore logs • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment • Ability to work in all weather conditions; this includes extreme temperature

•Safely sets up work-zone •Safely operates HDD on job site including daily calibration of locater and drill head •Safely potholes, windows, and identifies all utilities in the construction area and bore path •Safely and correctly connect/stub-up conduit and wire •Restores and/or landscapes disturbed areas of the job site •Demonstrates job skill, procedures and techniques to crew members •Responsible for the site set-up and clean-up •Dig pits, trenches, or potholes as directed by job plan

Job Description

NEED FOR BOX CREWS ASAP, We have some spots open for Drillers/Locators too, however we would like to gather 6 more people for box crew setting, this includes digging and mini ex use, setting vaults to spec, land restoration.

Under general supervision, this position performs tasks required for the operation of underground directional drilling, potholing, vault setting including set-up and bore path completion for the construction/upgrade of cable television or telephone systems.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Able to comply with all Safety check points for both environment, team, and rigs/equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Safely sets up work-zone
•Safely operates directional drills on job site including daily calibration of locater and drill head
•Safely potholes, windows, and identifies all utilities in the construction area and bore path
•Safely and correctly connect/stub-up conduit and wire
•Dig pits, trenches or potholes as directed by job plan including windows when crossing utilities
•Restores and/or landscapes disturbed areas of the job site
•Demonstrates job skill, procedures and techniques to crew members
•Responsible for the site set-up and clean-up

QUALIFICATIONS
•Minimum one (1) year previous experience or training
•Knowledge and understanding of “safety systems” and strike alerts associated with the drill including set-up and emergency procedures
•Knowledge and understanding of loading, unloading and transport procedures for the drill
•Knowledge and understanding of drilling fluids and proper mixing procedures for ground conditions
•Knowledge and understanding of and perform proper daily maintenance of the drill
•Knowledge and understanding of the proper care and rotation of rods
•Knowledge and understanding of support equipment operation, digging equipment, vacuum-units and reel trailers
•Must have or be able to obtain CDL Class “A” driver’s license

The employee is occasionally exposed to natural gas and to the risk of electrical shock.
