Qualifications
•Cable mapping experience is beneficial.
•Knowledge of cable design & construction of cable systems.
•Detailed knowledge of fielding process and/or construction practices.
•Ability to read maps.
•Strong analytical, observation and communication skills.
•Ability to learn new software and technologies.
•Ability to deal with field issues & confrontation effectively.
•Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word & Outlook a must.
•Ability to work outdoors.
•Ability to produce legible drawings of fiber plant.
Other Requirements
Must have a valid drivers license with a good driving record •Must be able to pass a DOT physical
Job Description
Job Description: The Field Fiber Technician takes a lead role in all activities regarding the auditing of
fiber enclosures, including but not limited to: obtaining all actual information as detailed in project guidelines,
discussing projects with customers, and researching information necessary to gather all data.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Document existing fiber splicing and route information to specifications.
• Respond to any outage situations resulting from work.
• Monitor and maintain schedule to meet customer specifications.
• Verify work performed to invoices turned is accurate and complete.
• Meet regularly with key personnel to ensure quality, timelines and guideline specification are followed, and that stated goals and objectives are met.
• Responsible for assisting in implementing corrective actions, as assigned, on any project in order to meet cost targets, quality, schedules, and customer satisfaction.
