Qualifications:
•Must have at least 2 years of Direction Drilling experience as the Operator. Additional operator experience for backhoe or excavator is a plus.
•Valid driver’s license (CDL Class A with Tanker Endorsement is preferred).
•All applicants must be comfortable digging or drilling around existing working underground utilities.
•This position requires significant time doing manual labor functions
Job Description
An Operator is responsible for operating multiple types of power construction equipment, such as: trucks, backhoes, mini-excavators, hoe rams, compactors, move and grade materials, erect structures or assist with concrete pours and demolition of other hard surface pavement, in a safe and efficient manner. Positions are available in Houston, TX.
Major Job Elements:
•Operate heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life, according to all relevant company policies and procedures
•Perform daily pre-inspection and on-going maintenance checks while operating equipment
•Observe and comply with all company, state, and One Call policies
•Supply input and frequent improvements or changes to Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
•Gather and load dirt and waste products from job sites onto trucks
•Conduct constant inspection and surveillance of surroundings before and during operation to ensure that safe ground or slope conditions exist, as well as adequate distance is observed for other equipment or personnel
•Communicate with others by all means possible (visible or radio contact) including interpreting hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed or loaded
•Position requires a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, including: lifting, positioning and securing materials and work pieces during installation
•Responsible for care and custody of equipment being operated, including daily cleaning and maintenance, and reporting all equipment maintenance issues to Supervisor
•Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
