Job Description


CENTRAL OFFICE (GNO-POWER SUPPORT)

Provide power support for all Central Offices and associated Power Plants, Standby & Portable engine systems. Performs troubleshooting and restorative work on these systems. Provides environmental and safety oversight of these power systems and ensures associated regulatory compliance.
Requires knowledge of general power and specific high voltage AC and DC safety procedures, power plant emergency and hazardous waste procedures, PC interface processes, schematic and line drawings, phase rotation, portable engine installation procedures, volt-ohm meter, clamp-on test meter, and proper use of insulated hand tools.
• Must be familiar with Central Office Telco equipment and procedures.
• Must be able to access various computer systems and data bases

WIRELESS TECHNICIAN

(NCE)Uses advanced skills to perform functions associated with the installation, integration and/or maintenance of wireless equipment. Installs and maintains mobile test equipment. Performs database changes, repairs on all cell site components as well as wide area network equipment. Demonstrates the ability to resolve difficult problems. Assists other technicians in monitoring and/or testing wireless network performance and/or resolving cell site problems. Additional responsibilities may include switch database changes, testing digital circuits and interpreting results.

Requires at least 2 years related technical training or equivalent experience, or have minimum of 1-year time in title as Wireless Technician I, or MSC/RNOC Technician I.
• Valid driver’s license
• Use sophisticated electronic test equipment, measuring devices, meters and hand tools in analyzing, adjusting, installing, wiring, repairing, maintaining and testing wireless, transmission, and associated equipment.
• Performs required incidental and preventative maintenance on cell site, power equipment, transmission, and associated equipment, and completes necessary logs, reports and postings.

PLACING TECHNICIAN

Works with heavy duty power equipment and small tools in the installation, repair and maintenance of outside plant facilities.
• Operates power equipment such as compressors, pumps, blowers, etc., and hydraulic aerial lifts (buckets) and ladders mounted on trucks.

Requires at least 2 years related technical training or equivalent experience, or have minimum of 1-year time in title as Wireless Technician I, or MSC/RNOC Technician I.
• Valid driver’s license
• Use sophisticated electronic test equipment, measuring devices, meters and hand tools in analyzing, adjusting, installing, wiring, repairing, maintaining and testing wireless, transmission, and associated equipment.
• Performs required incidental and preventative maintenance on cell site, power equipment, transmission, and associated equipment, and completes necessary logs, reports and postings
