Other Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age. Candidates must be able to read and comprehend regulations and instructions in English, as well as possess good oral communication skills. Lineman must be able to perform heavy physical labor, be able to discriminate between colors, and must not be afraid of heights or confined spaces. Also, a valid CDL Class B driver’s license, DOT physical and RMV driving record is required.
Job Description
Responsible for building, repairing and maintaining poles, cables, and their supports; and conduits for cables. The position also involves the running of fiber optic cable in the communication space, in underground infrastructure, working in manholes, ISP work, and whatever duties assigned. Lineman is responsible for maintaining the safety of the crew by giving direction regarding procedures, road safety and manhole safety and general oversight.
