Job Description
NX UTILITIES is a prime contractor for a major telecommunications company and is looking for professional & ambitious Site Surveyor. This position will work with the customer to identify, plan, review, sketch & outline proposed installation of fiber optic networks. Will work with local city & state officials to develop a strategy for rights of way and easements to achieve the construction goals for each project.
Field Tech/Surveyor Requirements: High school diploma Must be able to meet deadlines as assigned Excellent organization skills Able to work in all weather conditions Ability to walk several miles daily Experience in Telecommunications or fiber networks a plus Experience in outside field surveying preferred Valid Driver's License ability to pass a background and pre employment drug screen.
Surveyor will arrive at schedule appointments and visit potential customer locations and gather information regarding what will be needed to service the customer's location. Surveyor will take accurate and complete field notes based on the information gathered. This information will be taken back to the computer where a drawing will be drafted and a cost estimate put to it. These surveys have a short turn around period so this job will require a person who is attentive to completing a task and moving on to the next one.
Previous installation or construction industry experience would be helpful. Ability to listen to client needs and apply best practices of construction methods or techniques to meet their goals for placing telecom networks to their facilities.
