Qualifications
Experience in UG snd/or Aerial coax and fiber construction. Coax Splicing a bonus. Must be able to pass background check and have clean driving record. Must be eligible for employment in the United States. Current Class A license highly preferred. Applicants with previous supervisory experience would be eligible for crew lead positions.
Other Requirements
UG linemen must have experience operating trenchers, missiles, tamping equipment, concrete saws, and other relevant industry equipment. Aerial Linemen must be able to safely operate a boom truck, climb poles as needed, and utilize standard tools of the trade. Class A license is desirable but not required. Ability to Coax splice, balance actives, and troubleshoot RF levels using an RF meter is preferred.
Job Description
Job consists of day to day plant maintenance as well as specific projects. Work includes digging up and repairing conduit, rod and rope existing conduit, placing cable (fiber and coax) in new and occupied duct, UG drop placements and ped/vault installations. Installing new strand with fiber/coax, overlash fiber/coax, delash and relash, wreck out, pole placement. Aerial and UG lineman also are involved in splicing and activating new build/upgraded plant. Power supply installation ability is a plus. Occasional weekly on-call required for after hour and weekend outage responses. (rotating schedule)
