REGIONAL MARKET DIRECTOR
Nashville

Position Summary:

Bear Communications is currently recruiting for a Regional Market Director to oversee a large fiber build project in Nashville Tennessee. The Regional Market Director assigns work to appropriate management and oversees all employee and crew activity to ensure that all construction builds and projects are completed to customer specifications, time lines, and budget. The Market Director must have the ability to work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Customer Supply Teams, Logistics/Warehouse suppliers, and General Contractors. Previous experience working on large telecommunications projects is preferred. The preferred candidate needs to posses the ability to learn techniques and acquire knowledge in a short period of time.

Essential Job Functions:

• Ability to multi-task and work under tight time lines and thrive on day to day operational pressure
• Ensures compliance and documentation of all applicable safety requirements
• Works with the Construction Project Director in providing direction and oversight for contractors at the worksite
• Oversight of procurement, construction projects including scope, budgets and scheduling from kick-off through commissioning and final acceptance by owner
• Works and resolves issues with the design and engineering contractor
• Responsible for entire project contract, planning and implementation
• Conducts periodic meetings with client personnel throughout design, start up, performance testing and final acceptance
• Analyzes customer and operation needs and incorporates this into estimates for additional services/features/installation or for changes to approved design
• Oversight of material procurement and construction documents
• Responsible for project job cost, maintenance and manpower scheduling
• Tracks, compiles and organizes data related to generating costs and schedules
• Works with the Project Control Manager in the development and implementation of standardized project documentation and directives for the project
• Determines and communicates acceptable variances in procedures for specific projects
• Identifies new process improvements and technical changes that address customer communication needs
• Develops and utilizes process to alert key people of conditions and delays that may negatively affect deliverables and or costs for each project
• Responsible for timely completion of project Close-out reports identifying project lessons learned, project cost variances and causes, project schedule variances and causes, project performance accuracy and customer satisfaction

Education and Experience Requirements:

• BS Degree in Mechanical, Construction, Civil Engineering or related field and/or equivalent experience
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive people leadership experience, includes management of Engineering, Procurement and Construction or Telecommunications built project
• Demonstrated ability to think pro-actively and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and customer focus approach
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
• Proven proficiency in Microsoft Applications such as Project, Excel, Word.
• Proven ability to consistently meet or exceed deadline expectations
• Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a construction organization with a rapidly expanding customer base
• Experience managing large capital projects
• Handles challenges and deadlines well
• Must be able to manage multiple design construction schedules and responses
• Must be able to understand and read construction documents
• Familiar with all facets of OSP management, including quoting, construction and delivery
• Proven negotiation skills
• Business minded and able to maintain a commercial focus.
• Familiar with managing over 100 employees.
