•MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH VERMEER DRILLS (9x13, 16x20, 20x22, 24x40) AND DIGITRACK LOCATORS (F5, SE, Eclipse).
•MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH CASE MINI EXCAVATORS (CX36B, CX31B).
•High School diploma or equivalent
•Must have valid CDL driver's license with responsible driving record or willing to obtain within 3 months of employment
Job Description
CDB Utility is growing and in immediate need for an experienced underground utility operator for it's Davenport, Iowa location.
Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. Operate or tend machinery equipped with scoops, shovels, or buckets, to excavate and load loose materials as well as operate horizontal drilling (HDD) equipment and locating systems such as Digitrak.
Essential Duties:
•Move levers, depress foot pedals, and turn dials to operate power machinery, such as power shovels, stripping shovels, scraper loaders, or backhoes.
•Set up or inspect equipment prior to operation.
•Become familiar with digging plans, machine capabilities and limitations, and with efficient and safe digging procedures in a given application.
•Observe hand signals, grade stakes, or other markings when operating machines so that work can be performed to specifications.
•Operate machinery to perform activities such as backfilling excavations, vibrating or breaking rock or concrete, or making winter roads.
•Receive written or oral instructions regarding material movement or excavation.
•Move materials over short distances, such as around a construction site, factory, or warehouse.
•Create or maintain inclines or ramps.
•Lubricate, adjust, or repair machinery and replace parts, such as gears, bearings, or bucket teeth.
•Handle slides, mud, or pit cleanings or maintenance.
Work Conditions:
•Exposure to varying temperatures as work is primarily outside.
•Noise levels are moderate to heavy.
•Work in different types of terrain including water, sand, and dirt.
•Varying degrees of light as work may beginning early morning and continue in the evenings.
•Travel from home overnight and/or response to emergency situations.
