Qualifications
Must have 2-5 years experience in aerial telecom construction. Must have reliable transportation to and from the yard. Self motivated and able to learn quickly. Team oriented and have commendable character. Willing and able to mentor new crew. Safety focused.Be able to work without much supervision. Must complete jobs on time.
Other Requirements
Must possess a valid Driver’s License. Good driving record, CDL a plus. Must have small hand tools and climbing gear, Must be able to climb poles, no bucket linemen please. Must be able to pass drug test.
Job Description
Lineman Duties:
A lineman at Moncom will receive new maps and instructions daily from the field supervisor, once received they will need to communicate with the ground hand assigned to them what needs to be stocked on the truck for that days' events.While at the job site the lineman will be responsible for enacting the safety procedures, completing the assignment to spec, and upon returning to the office completing the required paperwork for billing. It is understood that the lineman will climb back easements and if required train any new personnel of the proper procedures needed to complete the days task safely and within reasonable timing.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Maintain proper inventory on vehicle based on work assignment
• Throw 1-2 lb. weighted rope over elevated cable lines and tree branches
• Pull lashing equipment down cable lines to secure lines
• Safely use tools to install ground rods and anchors
• Safely installing telecommunications lines
• Install equipment and dress pole to customer specifications using assorted small hand and power tools
• Operate chain hoist to add tension to strand and guy wires
• Read prints to determine cable types and start and stop points.
• Operate vehicle and bucket lifts safely, following all safety and traffic regulations

• Travel is a requirement
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check and MVR check.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to climb telephone poles daily, approximately 20’ in height
• Ability to lift and/or pull 100 lbs. several times each day
• Ability to endure long periods of standing, sitting or walking
• Bending, twisting, squatting, reaching above the head several times per day
• Ability to work full-time and in an outdoor environment
