Hotwire’s operating divisions focus on delivering its suite of advanced communications products to unique market segments to meet the needs of a specific industry.
Purpose:
The Fiber Splicer Supervisor will manage a growing team of Fiber Splicers.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing fiber splicers and ensures all work completed in appropriate timeframe.
• Ensure that splicers respond to outages and restore damaged fiber networks.
• Responsible for growing the team. Work with HR to hire and recruit splicers throughout SE FL.
• Handle daily people management of fiber splicers including coordinating schedules.
• Forecast weekly and monthly productivity of fiber splicers.
• Handles emergency restoration issues as needed.
• Act as a liaison between fiber team, construction, and other departments as needed.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years related experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. proficiency in Excel required
• Working knowledge of routers, switches, servers and various related equipment
• Working knowledge of CAT5/UTP/DS0/DS1/DS3 and fiber circuits, cabling and testing practices
• Knowledge of structured cabling practices and processes
• Strong vendor management skills
• Strong project management skills and experience
• Strong time and organization management skills a must
• Self-starter who can work effectively, independently, as well as, in a cross functional team environment
• Comfortable working in an unstructured, fast paced environment that embraces an entrepreneurial spirit
