Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
Splicing of fiber optic cables using single fusion equipment.
Test fiber using OTDR, power meter and light source.
Fiber Terminations using pigtails and connectors.
Installation of fiber optic closures, fiber distribution cabinets and relating hardware.
Maintain existing plant without causing signal failure interruptions.
Maintain test documentation.
Organizational and Communication skills.
Must be extremely attentive to detail and responsible.
Maintain project tracing information (production sheets, time sheets, and customer paperwork).
Maintain a safe work environment.
Skills/Qualifications:
Proficient at completing certification testing of fiber optic systems
High school diploma
Ability to work up to 50' high in bucket truck, ladder or utility pole.
Understand prints and splice schematics
Proficient in the use of all test and splicing equipment and must know how to use computer and all software used by the company in order to complete fiber optic projects
Able and willing to work outside and in inclement weather
Able and willing to be on call 24 hours, travel, and work nights/weekends
Willing to travel outside of state
