Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:
•Requires a BSEE, BS Mathematics, or equivalent degree preferred with 4 years experience in relevant technical skills
•Must have current knowledge of statistical analysis and mathematical trending
•Must have current knowledge of technology, standards, and specifications related to transmission systems, switching, digital loop carrier and related telecommunications systems

Job Description
Provides systems engineering support for telephony, video, and data systems. Assures the Suddenlink Communications networks will support the level of service and feature sets expected by our telephony and/or video and/or data customers.
Essential Functions:
•Works with large projects and custom equipment selection for customer unique applications making recommendations for selecting network hardware and software
•Reviews project financial budget and manages cost control over project from time of purchase order through completion of project
•Conducts evaluation, cost analysis, selection, engineering and network design of digital telecommunications equipment including fiber optic cables and terminal, multiplexers, digital cross connects, channel banks, digital loop carrier, local area networks, digital switching systems and related peripherals
•Analyze all practical solutions to Suddenlink network technical and network-related business problems
•Take the lead in development of capital budgets for telephony services to assure all identified network capacity problems are addressed by budgeted capital
•Monitor actual vs. budget capitals and application of technical solutions to assure all technical and business goals are being met
•Interface between Suddenlink departments to implement construction orders and other installation, maintenance, or repair requirements
•Develops and implements network monitoring, management, and diagnostic procedures that can be supported throughout the plant
•Provides input regarding the evaluation, selection and procurement of fiber optic transmission and other network equipment
•Provides on-going technical support and training for Suddenlink Cable employees on telecommunications equipment
•Provides guidance in resolving technical problems, implementation and follow through of preventative maintenance program
•Assist in the establishment of and adherence to network performance measurements and goals
•Assists in the preparation of proposals, sales calls, and presentations
•May provide project supervision of contractor installation of equipment
•Other duties as assigned
