Cable Tel will furnish company bucket truck with splice lab and generator, cones, Fujikura fusion machine, OTDR, launch reel, traffic identifier, cleaver, stripper, hard hat and safety vest. Employee will furnish hand tools and personal cordless drill.
Job Description
Cable Tel Services, Inc. was incorporated in 1996 and is a turn-key outside plant construction contractor based in Memphis, TN. We are currently working projects in Memphis, Little Rock, Nashville, and throughout north Mississippi.
We currently have an opening for a full-time (in-house) fiber optic technician / splicer.
Successful candidate will:
Be eligible to work in the United States.
Read and write English.
Have a valid drivers license with no DUIs. Be able to pass MVR check.
Have a positive attitude, report to work on time, and follow directions.
Preferred candidate will:
Have 2+ years fiber splicing experience.
Be proficient with Fujikura fusion machines.
Be familiar with multiple splice enclosure types.
Have 2+ years testing experience.
Be proficient with EXFO OTDRs.
This position will be based in Memphis, TN with possibility of overnight travel during the week. In that event, we try to have everyone home for weekends. Customer commitments dictate. Night work during the maintenance window is required. Some splicing may be daytime. We try to keep everyone on a consistent schedule as much as possible.
