Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Technical lead for field related projects.
• Ability to assist in technical management or able to manage smaller projects exclusively.
• Interfacing with customers in a way that builds and develops business relationships to foster growth and future work.
• Identify and manage all aspects of project risk and communicate risk appropriately.
• Responsible for meeting customer deadlines and manage resources to obtain deadline goals and escalation of any risk of non-compliance
• Able to perform all technical work with in the field and head end.
• Ability to set up JDSU sweep gear
• Ability to trouble shoot affectively to come to a solution
• Coaching, motivating and mentoring team members.
• Understanding the industry and demonstrating technical familiarity/competency on the project and the ability to assess the technical knowledge of other team members consistent with project needs.
• Ability to be self-sufficient and a self-motivator
Required Skills:
• 4 to 5 years of telecommunication’s experience.
• A general understanding of telecommunications construction.
• Ability to run and setup JDSU sweep gear, Spectrum Analyzers, TDR, and 24 hour testers
• Able to perform FCC Proofs
• General knowledge in the setup and installation of head end related gear (dated and new) including, but not limited to, Scientific Atlantic, C-Cor, General Instruments, and Antec
• General knowledge in CMTS and combining associated with a functional CMTS
• Leadership with skills to positively influence others, collaborate with teammates, communicate on the level of others, listen and understand people in circumstances common in the work place.
• The ability to embrace corporate values, understand the Company mission, and exemplify Company leadership behaviors.
• Proficient with MS Office to include: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and Visio.
• Must be willing to travel.
Time Requirements:
• Salaried position includes 40 – 50 hours plus work a week
• Must be dependable and able to work outside the normal Monday through Friday workweek
• Travel is required with extensive travel requirements at times
