Pay
Compensation will be based on experience. This is a full time position with an Architect/Engineering company that has been in business in downtown Chicago for 40+ years. Health, dental and vision benefits. 401K benefits with vacation & sick time.
Qualifications
5+ years of Fiber Optic network design, engineering and construction project management. Thorough knowledge of Outside & Inside Plant pathway design, Fiber cable network design, ROW design and permitting, Splicing design/documentation, Fiber testing and certification standards and strong MS Excel/Word/Powerpoint/Project experience. Must know how to fusion splice fiber, operate an OTDR and optical power meter. Knowledge of DWDM, CWDM, Fiber characterization testing a plus. Degree/RCDD a plus.
Other Requirements
Experience with proposal preparation and RFP responses a plus. Ability to put together a construction scope with tasks, units and pricing a plus. Experience with local contractors a plus. Knowledge of Autocad, Microstation, ArcGIS and/or Visio a plus.

Direct design team to produce fiber network design and permit plans for private and public clients. To also be able to manage design/build projects to construction completion and acceptance. Provide RFP support and management reporting.
