Successful applicants will be paid weekly on a unit basis. Medical, vision, dental insurance is available. Lambic will provide $15,000 of life insurance at no charge. After one year of service, you will be eligible for a $500 vacation allowance.
Other Requirements
The technician must have reliable transportation, preferably a pickup, van or SUV for carrying materials. A ladder rack would be a plus. Applicants must have a full set of basic hand tools, including but not limited to, screwdriver, hammer, pliers and a 4 or 6 foot step ladder. A socket set, reciprocating saw and drill would be useful. Applicants will need to go through a drug and background check prior to training. We will do the training for up to a week.
Job Description
Lambic Telcom is installing Google fiber service in multi-dwelling units (MDU) in Austin, TX and Kansas City, MO. These projects will last 2-3 years and possibly longer. We have an immediate need for technicians to place the fiber termination equipment in the building and run the fiber distribution cables to the individual units. Lambic will provide the training as necessary. The preferred candidate will have a background in Uverse, FiOS, PRISM or cable TV installations. Individuals with other related skills, such as electricians, drywall, general building and remodeling will also be considered.
Some of the requirements of the job includes, but is not limited to, placing a backboard in an equipment room or closet, mounting electronic equipment on the backboard, placing micro-duct and/or cable molding, placing terminal boxes and fiber wall plates, core boring holes up to 2 inches in diameter, placing fire stop caulk/putty in all penetrations, placing fiber cable in the micro-duct, and terminating fiber.
